How does it work?

Bike New York will lead a six-week cohort of Street Action Team members in a curriculum of engaging webinars, virtual classes, group discussions, and one-on-one phone chats with sessions held every Tuesday. Webinar topics include:

  • The relationship between New York City Government, Department of Transportation, and Community Boards
  • The mechanics of conducting a street audit and how to identify unsafe street conditions
  • NYC street design solutions that effectively enhance safety for all street users
Participants will complete comprehensive street audits of intersections, sidewalks, and corridors right in their own neighborhoods, providing a solid foundation for independently identifying, prioritizing, and reporting street safety challenges directly to Community Boards. They will learn how to properly document these conditions for presentation and, with expert guidance from Bike New York, develop potential design solutions that represent local priorities.
Class Schedule:
Tuesdays, 12:30PM—1:30PM
Upcoming cohort dates:  July 13, 20, 27, August 3, 10, 17
